Frequently Asked Questions
How do I schedule an appointment?
If you are ready to schedule, you can use the button on the Home or Contact Us page to see the clinicians’ available options. If you have any specific questions before scheduling, feel free to use the contact form and we’ll get back with you shortly.
Does Coleman Counseling accept insurance?
All counseling services are self-pay at Coleman Counseling. The practice can, however, accept payment through HSA/FSA cards. You may want to contact your insurance company to make sure this is acceptable with your specific plan.
How long is a typical counseling session?
The typical counseling session is 50 minutes. We always leave a few minutes between sessions to leave the world of the previous client and prepare to enter the world of the next client. If you find you’d like extended session time, though, this may be arranged at the time of scheduling, for an additional fee. Some sessions, such as certain couple’s sessions, may require extended session time, which may, in turn, require additional fees.
How much is a counseling session?
Since this is a teaching practice, and there are counselors at many levels of licensure, fees vary based on the counselor you are seeing. All fees can be found on the “Services & Fees” tab.
How does billing work?
Our default billing method is done by charging the card Coleman Counseling accepts cards, cash, and check. HSA/FSA cards are also accepted for payment.
What's your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, we require at least 24 hours notice. We understand that life happens and will work with you as we can to reschedule your session for a future time. However, cancellation within 24 hours is subject to a cancellation, or a no-show, fee. Those fees are available on our “Services & Fees” tab. Habitual cancellations results in a referral to another counseling provider.
How does Telehealth work?
Once we have a Telehealth session scheduled, you will be emailed a link to follow to access the virtual session. When it is time for your appointment, you will simply click the link, give access to your camera and microphone, and enter our virtual office. You can access the session through your computer or your phone, as long as you have internet service. Using a phone may require you to download a free Telehealth app in order to access the link. Please also keep in mind that you will need to find a private place to be during your session, in order to ensure you feel comfortable enough to make the most of your therapy.
